In the Philippine archipelago, running becomes the most popular way of getting into a healthy and active lifestyle by many. It serves as a tool of reaching our personal goals such as mind, body and also in life through the work of passion and love to the sport. We, as an individual, for the love of running and willingness to help, we came up to consider running more than a lifestyle.
This year, running will be playing a special role in the community as we bring the “Mara, Buag Ta! Ikaw, kaiba ang pamilya!” happening on the 22nd of September 2018, 4:00 am at Plaza Rizal, Virac, Catanduanes. It’s a fun-run event that aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle within the community of Virac and in the Island of Catanduanes. Along with our first objective, the event will serve as the voice to raise awareness regarding the 7th disease that causes of death among Filipino – the End Stage Renal Disease or most commonly known as Chronic Kidney Disease. And lastly, part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Faith Tablate who is undergoing treatment due to the said disease. The proceeds to be given will be a big help to support their medical expenses.
The “Mara, Buag Ta! Ikaw, kaiba ang pamilya!” is comprised of four categories: 3k, 3k Duo, 5k and 10k. Registration fees as follows: 3k Php 250, 3k Duo Php 450, 5k Php 350 and 10k Php 450. Fees includes race singlets, race bibs and giveaways from sponsors. All categories will run within the municipality of Virac. Aside from running, we will be inviting a professional to talk more about the ESRD to give more information and on how to prevent this deadly disease. Then, afterwards our gym partner – Fitness Campaign will conduct a FREE Zumba Party to all the participants.
