National Geographic Earth Day Run 2017
April 23, 2017
SM Mall of Asia Grounds
What will be the beneficiary of this race?
The beneficiary of Nat Geo EDR 2017 is the reforestation effort of the Ipo Watershed in Bulacan. Illegal settlers, illegal logging, slash and burn farming or kaingin and charcoal making, all contribute to the degradation of this watershed that supplies fresh water to 11 million Metro Manila residents.
Proceeds of this race will help replenish the needed trees and secure the proper maintenance of this 6,600 hectares of life sustaining area.
What’s special in this eighth edition of EDR?
VIP treatment will be accorded to previous EDR registrants by giving them special privileges and perks during race day. Eco Warriors of past races will be starting ahead of the rest like elites situated in front of the pack. After finishing the race, they will have their very own express lane/booth where to claim their finisher shirt and loot bags. They will also have their special warm-up and recovery booth where they can do their pre and after race ritual in comfort and separated from the rowdy crowd.
